Sophomore Year has Begun

Dakota's sophomore year began two days ago. We're back into the full swing of seminary, school, sports (being tennis right now) every day. Summer was way too short for me and it was especially too short for Dakota. Although, he does seem to like his teachers this year and he likes his classes so that  good.  Before I know it, he'll be all grown up.  Grow slow Dakota. :)

Pictures from Kpong

Dylan is now back in the big city Accra.  After transfers he now has a new companion, Elder Macaulay and he's from Nigeria.  He likes his new apartment.  He went from a 2 person apartment to now a 6 person apartment and he now can take HOT showers.  He and his companion have to ride their bikes quite a distance everyday from where they live to where their area is.  He's doing great and is very happy.  Here are some of the pics we just got in the mail that he sent almost a month ago. :)

Dakota Goes to Nellis Airforce Base

Dakota went with the Venture Scouts to Nellis Airforce Base this past Friday. He had a great time learning about the Thunderbirds and about some of the air crafts and weapons. They got to split up and check out the different airplanes and even a motorcycle. As you see by the pics, he and Josh had a good time. :)

Cody Came to Visit

Cody flew in last Saturday to spend a week with us. It was so great to have him here. We wish he could've stayed alot longer. The day he got here the four of us went to Sammy's Woodfire Pizza for dinner. Sunday, church. Monday the boys played Xbox and played basketball with some friends. Tuesday, more Xbox and water games for mutual. Wednesday, Steve took the boys to go bowling. Thursday, I took the boys to Fat Burger (the above pic) for lunch then we saw Brave at the movie theater. Friday, we met Steve for lunch at Cafe Rio then we all headed to the movie theater to see Bourne Legacy. After the movie, Steve and Cody hit some golf balls with Granpa and Broc and then they enjoyed some father/son time at dinner. Before we knew it, yesterday came and it was time to say good bye. So fun to see him and spend time with him. We did miss Cadie and Carson this trip as they both had other commitments. Hopefully we'll see all three of them this Thanksgiving down here in Vegas. :)

Dakota is an Eagle Scout

DAKOTA IS now an Eagle Scout. He earned it this past May and we had his court honor this past Sunday where he was officially awarded the Eagle pin and patch. We're very proud of him and his accomplishment.

Chatting with Brother Kearney before hand.

Let's get started.

I'm pinning the Eagle pin on Dakota.

The Boys Go Camping

STEVE AND the boys went camping in for Steve's June visit. The camped in a place called Fort Bonaventura in Ogden, Utah. They visited the rebuilt fort that was on that sight back when. They had fun hanging out with each other.

Pictures from Dylan

WE RECEIVED pictures from Dylan in June. After the MTC, he reported to the Mission Home and from there he was assigned to a little town called Kpong (pronounced pong) and paired up with a new companion. His name is Elder Kyeremateng and as of today they are still together serving in the same area. He loves it there so much and and he really loves the people. Again, we are so very proud of him and because of his service and dedication I know not only is he being blessed by Heavenly Father, our family is being blessed too. :)

Still Catching Up: Part 6

CADIE GRADUATED from high school!  She graduated with honors and was the only student in her whole class that did not miss a single day of school all four years.  Go Cadie!!!  She will be attending Utah Valley University this fall with a full four year academic scholarship.  We are so proud of her. :)
