My earliest memory of my Grandma Huffman is her letting me brush her hair. She always wore it in a bun then and she would let me brush her hair even though it would pull her hair out of her bun. I also remember how she would let me help make breakfast. I think I was between 1st and 2nd grade and she would let me crack the eggs into the pan. It made me feel like such a grown up. I also remember snapping green beans with her. She always made me feel like I was her favorite grandchild, which I'm sure she made all her grandchildren feel that way. She lived in Virginia and we lived in Wyoming so I didn't see her again until I was 17. Even then, she loved on me and Missy as if she saw us everyday. I saw her again after Devynne and Dylan were born when she came to Cheyenne for the first time. She absolutely loved seeing her great grandchildren. It meant the world to her to be able to see us and visit with us. She came to visit again after Dakota was born and she was thrilled to see this chubby 9 month old baby. She held him and carried him around constantly. She was a loving, caring and joyful person. I never heard her say an unkind word. She also always wore her high heels. She would say that she just didn't feel like herself unless she had her high heels on. I will always remember the time we spent together sitting on my dad's patio and she telling me how she loved me and how "precious" she thought my children were and how she wished we could all live in the same place. I'm so grateful for the plan of salvation because I know through Heavenly Father's plan we will one day see each other again and live in the same place. (June 5, 1919 - September 2, 2012)
